Ski touring & freerinding

Winter sports enthusiasts and nature-lovers who prefer the tranquility and challenge of nature away from busy pistes, will find a real paradise here. A variety of mountain and peak tour in the  Lungau region are suitable for ski tours. After a demanding ascent enjoy making tracks in the virgin deep-snow slopes – unforgettable moments to cherish.

Cross country skiiing & skating

In Lungau there are a total of 26 cross country trails of around 200 kilometres in length. Including high alpine trails at an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea-level. In the valley there are groomed trails to suit all ages. Set your own pace, head off into the distance and see you own breath evaporate in the blue sky. The Lungau trail badge is valid for all trails in Lungau.

Toboganning & Sledging

Whizz down the mountain on natural or prepared toboggan runs on your own slegde of hired toboggan. In the evening on a floodlit run is particularly great fun. A tip – by the light of a full moon the natural backdrop is even more specatular.

Snowshoeing & winter walks

Explore the magical winter wonderland of Lungau on foot in warm winter boots or on snowshoes. Start from the front door of the Grizzly Sport & Family Resort. Glistening snow crystals conjure up a smile on your face and you can feel the fresh, unspent breath of the forest.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skatin...

Horse-drawn sleigh rides are available during the day and in the evening. Snuggled up in warm blankets savour the magical winter paths. The eveing rides are particularly magical – by torchlight in the bitter cold. Those wishing to practice artistic pirouettes on the ice or enjoy an exciting ice hockey match with friends, is right at home on the ice rink at the floodlit sports ground in St. Margarethen.
